Extract PDF Pages and Page Ranges

Pull out the exact sections you need from a PDF, such as pages 1-5, 8-10, or everything from page 15 onward.

When to extract PDF page ranges

Range extraction is useful when a large PDF contains several documents in one file, when you only need a chapter from a study packet, or when an application asks for one section of a bigger document bundle.

Range examples

• 1-5 extracts pages 1 through 5.
• 8-10 extracts pages 8 through 10.
• 15- extracts page 15 through the end of the PDF.
• 1-5, 8-10 creates separate files for both ranges.

Plan the ranges before you split

The range field uses the PDF's physical page order, starting with page 1. Printed page labels inside a book or report may be different—for example, a document can have an unnumbered cover followed by a page marked “1.” Check the page position in your PDF viewer before entering the range. Each comma-separated item becomes a separate output, so 2-4, 9 produces one PDF for pages 2 through 4 and another for page 9.

A range must begin and end within the document. The end cannot be lower than the start. You can repeat or overlap ranges when you intentionally need the same page in more than one output, but the tool does not automatically merge those entries into one file.

How to extract pages privately

1. Open PDF Splitter.
2. Select your PDF.
3. Choose Split by ranges.
4. Enter the ranges you want.
5. Download the extracted files.

If a range does not work

First confirm the document's total page count and remove page numbers that fall outside it. Use commas only between separate outputs and a hyphen only for a continuous range. If the PDF is protected, enter its password in the optional password field. A damaged file or an unsupported encryption method may still fail to open. Very large PDFs can also use significant memory because both the source and generated files are handled on your device; closing unused browser tabs may help.

Check the extracted files

Open every downloaded PDF before deleting the original. Confirm that the first and last pages are correct, text and images are readable, and any required forms, annotations, or signatures still behave as expected. When several outputs are created, the browser downloads them together as a ZIP archive.
