Scope of This Policy

This policy explains how the PDF Splitter website handles a document selected in the main tool and what other information may be involved when you visit the site. Local PDF processing and ordinary website activity are different: the PDF can stay on your device even though the page, analytics, and advertising resources use internet connections.

100% Browser-Based Processing

We take your privacy seriously. The main splitting workflow does not upload your PDF to our server for processing.

When you use PDF Splitter:

• All processing happens entirely in your browser using JavaScript.
• Your PDF files never leave your device — there is no upload step.
• The filename, password, contents, and custom page ranges are handled by the local tool rather than sent to our server to create the output.
• The generated PDF or ZIP is offered as a browser download that you choose where to save.

Data Collection

We do not collect or receive the contents of PDFs selected in the splitter. When analytics is enabled, we and our analytics provider may collect usage and technical information such as page views, interactions, approximate location, browser or device details, referral information, and cookie or similar identifiers after you consent.

We may send events showing whether a split was started, completed, or failed, using only broad categories such as file-size range, page-count range, split mode, output-count range, and generic failure category. These events are designed not to include filenames, passwords, PDF contents, exact file sizes, exact page counts, or custom page ranges.

Like most websites, the site host and third-party resources may receive technical request information needed to deliver their services, such as an IP address, browser or device information, requested page, referrer, and request time. This information is separate from the selected PDF and may identify or be linked to a device or connection.

Browser Memory, Storage, and Downloads

The selected PDF and generated output are held temporarily by the page while processing is underway. The splitter does not intentionally save the source PDF to persistent browser storage such as local storage or IndexedDB. Refreshing or closing the page normally ends the active session, although memory management is controlled by your browser and operating system. Your browser may cache ordinary site resources, and files you download remain wherever you save them until you delete them.

Analytics, Advertising, and Third Parties

The site uses Google AdSense and may use Google Analytics 4 for optional usage analytics. Google Analytics is loaded only after you allow analytics, and you can revisit that choice through the “Analytics choices” link in the site footer. These Google services make their own network requests and may process usage and technical information under the Google Privacy Policy. Depending on service configuration, browser settings, consent choices, and applicable law, they may use cookies or similar browser storage. These services are separate from local PDF processing; the splitter does not send them the selected PDF.

The analytics integration disables Google Signals and advertising-personalization signals. A browser Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal keeps optional analytics disabled. You can also clear this site's stored data in your browser to remove a saved analytics choice.

Retention

We do not receive or retain the PDF selected in the splitter or the generated output. Your saved analytics choice remains in your browser until you change it or clear the site's stored data. Hosting logs, analytics data, advertising data, and support emails may be retained according to the relevant service and account settings, provider policies, operational needs, and applicable law; we do not describe those records as having zero retention.

Security

A local workflow removes the file-upload transfer used by many online PDF services, but no browser-based activity is entirely risk-free. The website is served over HTTPS to protect page delivery in transit. You should keep your browser and device updated, confirm that you are using https://smallpdfsplit.online, and avoid untrusted browser extensions when working with sensitive files.

Your Choices and Questions

You can leave the site without selecting a file, adjust browser privacy controls, clear site data through your browser, and delete downloaded outputs from your device.
